The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings Banff to audiences around the globe. Immediately after the Festival ends in November, a selection of the best films go on tour across Canada, the United States, and internationally from Scotland to South Africa to China, Japan, New Zealand, Antarctica, and points in between. Each year, the films travel to 30 countries reaching more than 210,000 people at over 550 screenings.

Host organizations in each tour location choose a program that reflects the interests of their local audiences from a selection of films on exploration and adventure, culture and environment, and mountain sports.

The proceeds of many tour screenings benefit a local outdoor program, community cause, or a non-profit such as youth adventure and outdoor pursuit programs, search and rescue operations, climbing clubs, adaptive sport programs, conservation groups, and trail maintenance organizations.

The Alpine Club of Canada has 28 alpine huts and 20 regional club sections across Canada. We offer mountain adventures throughout the country and around the world. We publish books and journals related to mountain culture. We provide support for access and environmental issues, an avenue into competition climbing, financial grants that support a variety of mountaineering-related projects and much more.

Want to meet other backcountry enthusiasts? Our 20 local "Sections" from Vancouver Island to Montreal are the heart and soul of the Club. The Sections offer Club trips every weekend, interspersed with backcountry courses for beginners through experts. Whether you are a hiker, backcountry skier, snowshoer, ice climber, rock climber or mountaineer, the ACC has an activity for you.

We're one of about a dozen regional sections that make up the Alpine Club of Canada, Canada's national climbing and mountaineering organization. Our members climb cliffs, frozen waterfalls and mountains, they ski back-country, cross-country or downhill, hike and generally enjoy the more vertical aspects of nature. Here are some of the reasons why you might want to join the Toronto Section:

• Participate in club activities, ranging from rock-climbing days at local crags to mountaineering expeditions. In the winter, section trips explore the many ice-climbing and back-country ski areas within a day's drive of Toronto. Many climbers learn through participation in section trips and gain the ability needed to go out on their own.
• Special nights at local climbing gyms and social get-togethers are also amongst the section's offerings.
• Benefit from members' rates at our cabin (including boat service) at Bon Echo, where a granite cliff 100m high and almost 2km long rises out of the water at Lake Mazinaw.

To join the Toronto Section of the Alpine Club of Canada, you must join the National Club. The Alpine Club of Canada's application form will ask which section of the club you wish to be affiliated.
